Updates on the Nashville school shooting include the deaths of a woman suspect and three children

Officials report that three students and three staff members were shot and murdered at a private school in Nashville Tennessee.

Police said they shot and killed the suspect a 28-year-old Nashville woman in a lobby area of the schools second level.

The young pupils were "ushered out of the building" according to Nashville Police Chief John Drake who "was really brought to tears to see" them.

The first level of the school was where she entered through a side entry according to the authorities and the second floor was where she exited.

shooting a number of rounds. Officials stated that it appears all of the doors were locked.

According to Drake the suspect could have been a past pupil.

Authorities were able to identify the suspect thanks to a car spotted nearby the school and they have since responded to the suspects residence according to Drake.

His mother works at the front desk of the school according to Alex Apple who spoke to ABC News Live.

Apple said that when she received the warning to take cover she was at her car.
