At least 40 individuals were killed in one of the bloodiest incidents ever at a Mexican immigration detention facility according to the president on Tuesday.

According to the National Immigration Institute 29 persons were hurt and their conditions are "delicate-serious."

According to the government the facility was housing 68 males from Central and South America at the time of the fire.
