According to Mundo Deportivo Borussia Monchengladbach sports director Ronald Virkus has formally announced that Marcus Thuram won’t be signing a contract extension and will instead become a free agent in June.
When asked about the situations of Thuram and Ramy Bensebaini who will both leave the club in the summer Virkus said “We were in open contact with both of them and we knew the current state. It is a shame that they are not going to extend the terms of their contracts about to expire since both have contributed to us a lot in the four years prior to their departures.
Thuram has scored 13 goals and contributed four assists in 26 Bundesliga games this season for the German club. Additionally he averages a crucial pass per game and has produced five major opportunities.
But right now his transfer to Catalonia is little more than a dream. Even if the club has him on its roster there will be competition for his services in the coming weeks especially because clubs like Bayern Munich are interested in signing him.
Premier League Clubs Are On High Alert
Marcus Thuram will leave Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the current campaign for free the team has announced.
Thuram and Ramy Bensebaini have declined new contracts and will depart the club this summer according to Gladbach sports director Roland Virkus.

Atletico Madrid a fellow La Liga adversary is also interested in signing Thuram because they need to strengthen their assault after Joao Felix was strongly linked with a summer move to Chelsea.
Barcelona And La Liga Defender Have Signed A Two-Year Contract
