Pedri Gonzalez Ousmane Dembele and Frenkie de Jong rejoined the group earlier today during Barcelonas training session. The trio has been out of action for a while—some of them for longer than others—but they are all about to make a comeback.
The Frenchmans omission from the team according to AS Javi Miguel will solely be motivated by prudence. The medical staff does not want to take any chances since Dembele has a nasty history of injuries at Barcelona.
Without his French star Xavi Hernandez has already made it through a significant portion of the season; two more games should not provide a significant challenge.
Dembeles final game for Barcelona was against Girona in late January but he was injured after only 26 minutes.
He could eventually make another appearance for Xavis team next week but not on Sunday against Atletico Madrid three months after his last one.
