A RECENTLY FAILED BARCELONA MOVE IS EXPLAINED BY A FORMER LA LIGA STRIKER: “IT’S A PASSING TRAIN”

Lucas Perez a striker for Deportivo La Coruna opened out about his unsuccessful move to FC Barcelona almost three years ago during an interview with ESPN (h/t SPORT).

The former Arsenal player was one of several alternatives that the Blaugrana were considering when they were obliged to make an emergency signing due to a run of attack-related injuries.

Perez recalled “I was 31 years old looking back on the unsuccessful transfer to Camp Nou. Barcelona made a tender of eight million euros while Alavés demanded fifteen million. The situation is how it is. Villarreal showed interest as well. What do you intend to do?

You cant board the passing train but you have to realize that Alavés wanted to stay and that trading their leading scorer wasn’t a good choice. Joselu experienced it the next year when Sevilla sought him.

The seasoned attacker who is now competing in the RFEF Primera Division joined with Deportivo La Coruna in January of this year.
